Masao (Zhengxiong) Rong is a London-based multi-disciplinary designer/artist who adopts a tactile approach in his creative practice. He works in the realms of design, installation, and public art.

As a designer, he experiments with storytelling materials and traditional crafting techniques, aiming to weave them into a contemporary context and create new narratives. Drawing inspiration from historical studies and experimental processes, Masao creates sculptural objects that delve into the human-nature relationship, cultural identity, repair and care, and social production.

As an artist, he works as a member of Futurefarmers, delivering public art projects in the forms of installations, performances, exhibitions, and workshops that engage communities in conversations about emerging social topics.

Raised up in east Asia, and recently graduated from Royal College of Art, Masao has a unique perception that combines eastern philosophy and western academic art knowledge. His works offer fresh perspectives on cultural influences.
